Wood straight from the tree is soft and splits along its fibres, so it can be worked with an axe, a drawknife and a brace. Over six weeks you make a stool from a single ash log, start to finish.
We work outside under the shop's lean-to when it is dry. Dress for the weather.
Taught by Josef Hartl. Some experience helps.
