Letterpress and type

Set metal and wood type by hand, lock it up and print a run of cards and a two-colour poster.

Letterpress is printing from raised type, set letter by letter. In eight weeks you learn to set, lock up and print on the Albion and the proofing press, and finish with a two-colour poster of your own.

Paper, ink and type are the shop's; bring an idea for the poster by week five.

Taught by Ilse Marten. For beginners.
